Lake Balanan is located near Siaton, about 60km south west from Dumaguete. The last 10 km are frequently bumpy and slow as the road winds its way up a small road up the mountain with stunning views of the surrounding area and Mount Tallinis in the distance. It is a great day out for the family with plenty of activities to try or to simply enjoy the natural beauty.
The facilities and activities include the following:
- Zip line
- Floating cottages
- Walk around the lake
- Boat trip across the lake and a short 10 minute walk to a small but picturesque waterfall
- Tree houses
- 3 swimming pools to cool down
- Pedal boats
- Kayaks
- Restaurant with a simple menu but tasty food
The charges are as follows:
- Entrance fee- P50 per person
- Kayak – P150 per hour
- Pedal boat – P100 per hour
- Boat tour – P100 per hour
- Zip line – P200
- Floating cottage – P100 per day
- Small room – P1,500 for 3 people and P200 extra per additional person
- Large room – P4,000 for 4 people and P200 extra per additional person
